Manor, named after postmaster James Manor in 1859, sits just 13 miles
Northeast of Austin. Residents take great pride in their town's history
and have made significant contributions to its preservation. Though a
proudly self-sufficient town, Manor has greatly benefited from the
expanding shopping, medical and business opportunities brought on by
the growth of Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville and Georgetown.
The new State Highway 130, currently in development, will facilitate
relatively quick access to the north and south of Austin and is sure to
spur more growth.
The Manor Downs quarter horse race track is located in the area and
operates during the spring and fall. One of the big draws to living in
the Manor area is the ability to find acreage homes in a quiet, rural
setting.
